The NKBA offers several levels of certification in kitchen and bath design from Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer which can be reached in 2 years, to the truly exceptional Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer requiring a minimum of 12 years industry experience. These certifications set you apart. They give you increased credibility with potential employers and give consumers confidence when they’re deciding whom to hire for their kitchen or bath project. NKBA members are the only individuals who may hold these certifications and advertise their recognized expertise to the public.

Design Competitions - Student designers may choose to participate in the annual NKBA Student Design Competition. This competition is open to all NKBA student members, and offers a great way to enhance your resume, gain publicity and win cash prizes. Winners of the NKBA Student Design Competition are featured in the Association’s Profiles Magazine – a quarterly member publication mailed out to more than 14,000 kitchen and bath professionals and NKBA student members. Additional student design competitions are held by NKBA chapters and NKBA member companies.

Scholarships - NKBA student members have the ability to apply for exclusive scholarship opportunities. These scholarships are made possible by member companies, associated publications and organizations as well as local NKBA chapters that sponsor scholarships, essay contests and design competitions each year.
